Dr. Mohamed Abousalem, P.Eng, joined TECTERRA Inc. as its first Chief Executive Officer in May 2010.  With over 20 years of experience in the geomatics industry, including product management, marketing, engineering and corporate development, Dr. Abousalem has led the establishment of TECTERRA's operations and  the launch of its programs and activities.  Mohamed is a civil engineering graduate from Alexandria University in Egypt, and he holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary and an MBA from Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business.  Immediately before joining TECTERRA, Mohamed was Vice President Corporate Development at Hemisphere GPS, where he led the company’s marketing, business development and human resources functions.  Mohamed’s prior engagements included senior international roles at geomatics companies including Magellan Navigation and Racal Surveys. Dr. Abousalem is a current member of the Alberta Regional Innovation Network Advisory Council.

Mr. Gordon Banting, CMA, Mr. Banting brings with him more than 22 years of senior finance management experience in technology and not-for-profit organizations.  Gordon has B.A. from Carlton University and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation from the Society of Management Accountants of Alberta.  His early career began as a high-school history teacher for more than a decade in both Alberta and British Columbia.  He was Controller at Power Properties and VP of Finance and Administration at Kestrel Data (Canada) Ltd. Prior to joining TECTERRA, Gordon was the Business and Finance Manager for the Calgary Women’s  Emergency Shelter.

Dr. Naser El-Sheimy, P.Eng., led the inception of TECTERRA since the very early days of the concept and he is now serving as the company’s Scientific Director. Dr. El-Sheimy is a professor and former Head of the department of geomatics engineering at the University of Calgary. He holds a Canada Research Chair (CRC) in mobile multi-sensor systems and his focus research are is GPS/INS integration, multi-sensor systems and mobile mapping systems. Naser has published a book and over 350 papers in academic journals as well as conference and workshop proceedings. He is the recipient of more than 30 national and international paper awards.
