Current Funders

TECTERRA’s mission is made possible by the current funding from the following provincial and federal agencies.

Alberta Innovates Technology Futures

Alberta Innovates – Technology Futures (AITF) was created by the Alberta government to build Alberta’s strengths in the technology sector. AITF helps technical industries find solutions, develop products and move technologies to market. It is building on Alberta’s established advantage in platform technologies to enhance the technical capacity within the province’s high-tech companies. AITF facilitates access to the strengths of the province’s key partners that help support commercialization and grow new ventures.

Government of Canada - Networks of Centres of Excellence

TECTERRA is partially funded through the Centres of Excellence for Commercialization and Research (CECR), which is a program administered by the Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) Secretariat. The NCE Secretariat funds partnerships between universities, industry, government and not-for-profit organizations. Through an interdisciplinary, multi-sectoral model, the NCE Secretariat’s world-class Networks and Centres connect leading-edge research with industrial know-how and strategic investment.

TECTERRA is partially funded by Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD).  The mandate for WD is to promote the development and diversification of the economy of Western Canada and advance the interests of the West in national economic policy. This mandate is delivered primarily through grants and contributions programs, which enable the department to contribute strongly to the productivity and competitiveness of the West.
